Hailing from Atlanta, GA, The DangerFeel Newbies have a hell of a lot of soul, a gorgeously rich, composite sound and an engaging sense of heritage. Drawing influence from a multitude of genres on the American musical spectrum (blues, jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop etc) the Atlanta trio emerge with a sound that is equally rooted in the past and freshly original.
Complementing the sound of The DangerFeel Newbies, whilst taking them in to the realms of deep and soulful house, are these remixes are from Kai Alcé, head of NDATL Muzik. NDATL is an acronym for New York, Detroit and Atlanta, the three places that have been instrumental in shaping Kai’s approach and cultivated the tones of the label’s releases.
This three-track EP comprises of two versions of the title track, plus a remix of ‘Swingin’ With The New Jacks’. The sounds are warm and sumptuous, with exquisite velvety vocals on ‘What Am I Here For?’ and layers of jazz percussion. As the name suggests, ‘Swingin’ With The New Jacks’ has more of a big-band swing feel and plenty of sax. It’s a sophisticated, expressive EP with a personal feel and a big heart.
